The aim of our undergraduate program is to help students train their basic skills and further their advanced studies in English to become teachers in secondary schools or to enter other professions that require a good command of English. The curriculum of our undergraduate program emphasizes four basic English skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) in the freshman and sophomore years. In the last two years, students will obtain advanced training in literature and linguistics. At present, there are eight classes in our undergraduate program. There are 2 classes in each year. The number of our undergraduate students is 346, including 265 admitted via examination and placement, 46 by recommendation and screening, 21 overseas Chinese students, 5 students from off-shore islands admitted via recommendation, 3 disabled students, and 2 students whose parent is stationed abroad.
