Literature Track

The NTNU English department faculty in literature are top researchers in the fields of British, American and anglophone literature and culture, with specialties in classics, modern and comparative literature and contemporary culture. A great variety of courses are offered each year: in addition to survey courses that introduce to students the canonical texts of British and American literature, courses in textual analysis and rhetoric, theory and global culture. The courses offered in this program follow current trends abroad in literature and culture, and a sampling includes “Literature for Children and Young Adults,” “Pop Culture,” “Sex/Gender and Literature,” “Race,” “Fantasy Literature,” “Film Narration,” and “Theater Performance and Production.” The NTNU English faculty in Literature also publish an academic research-based journal, Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies, which has received awards from the National Science Council for outstanding research.
