According to the 2017 World University Rankings by Subjects published by Quacquarelli Symonds, an International higher education information institute, NTNU rose to No. 310, with the three subjects relating to our department all demonstrating excellence: language advanced to No. 48, modern languages were within the top 100, and English literature rose to be within the top 200.  This result indicates that the department is very competitive in the fields of foreign literature, linguistics, and English teaching.
